What a weekend so far! Yesterday Dad and Sarah made strawberry jam out of three flats of Florida strawberries that Aunt Anne brought over from Yoder’s. About half of the strawberries had been caught in a freeze, though, so they were unusable. I know the strawberry farmers do not want to lose money when their crops are caught in a freeze, but isn’t it a little dishonest to sell those strawberries? The consumer pays the same price for them as the good berries, but then cannot eat them or cook with them! So I hope Aunt Anne can get her money back.
Yesterday afternoon Dad and Sarah and I went to our good friends’ Ed and Sharon’s house in Largo. Our friend Miguel Demelli, the MIA’s missionary to Mexico, was there yesterday afternoon teaching about the spiritual roots of disease. For example:
A sound heart is life to the body,
But envy is rottenness to the bones. Pro 14:30
This is just one example, but Scripture is full of info like this that connects a spiritual condition with a physical effect on the body. And of course, part of his teaching was what to do about it!
We were late getting home from Largo and missed the live stream at Rez. I am watching the service this morning, though.
The reason Dad and Sarah aren’t watching the service this morning, is they are in Disney today with Aunt Anne and Kyle for Sarah and Kyle’s birthdays. They wanted to go full out and ride rides all day, so I elected to stay home. Disney is hard on me if I can’t go at my own pace, and I would have bogged everyone down. And I would have been ready to go home by 6, and so on and so forth, and so this way they can play hard all day, stay till 10, and come home exhausted, LOL.
Dad is taking me to Disney all day on Wednesday, just me and him, for my birthday. We will either spend the day at Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom – it’s been a while since I’ve been to either of those. And then we have reservations at Raglan Road Irish Pub in Downtown Disney for that evening.
