In 2019 I learned about Intermittent Fasting and started implementing that protocol in my life. I ate within the same 8-hour window, and fasted for 16 hours, daily. Now it is 2023, and over the past four years I had lost 75 pounds and kept it off.
In September I went to the ER for an unrelated health issue. I was shocked to learn that I had diabetes. My dear friend had previously sent me the book, The Diabetes Solution by Dr. Richard Bernstein.
I implemented his protocol as soon as I was released from the hospital. The docs instructed me to take 32 units of insulin twice daily. Today I have cut that nearly in half, and I am going to keep going until I am at 0 units twice daily.
September 14: blood glucose = 490.
October 14: blood glucose = 264.
November 14: blood glucose = 131.
I can’t wait to see what it is on December 14!
The insulin causes me to retain water, which negatively affects my health in other areas. Today I am completing a 3-day fast, which has helped me shed all retained water. Tomorrow when I start eating again, and taking insulin again, if I begin retaining water again, I will just include a one-day fast as often as needed so as not to sabotage my previous weight loss.
I am continuing to eat in an 8-hour window daily as my body heals. Thank You, Father, for Your wonderful care, and thank you to all who have been praying for me!
