Bring 2 c filtered water to a boil. Combine
2 whole cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cardamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp allspice
and stir into water. Let steep 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, pour 1 c (half) the chai spiced water through a sieve or filter into a large mug. Add 1 black tea bag and 1 tsp coconut sugar. Let steep 5 minutes. While it is steeping, heat 1 c cream, milk, or coconut milk until just steaming. Remove the tea bag and stir the milk into the tea. Yum!
(Save the extra c of spiced water in the refrigerator for the next mug of tea. Just reheat to steaming, then finish the recipe from adding the tea bag on.)
