Need to be strengthened in your resolve to homeschool? Look no further. Tainted Teachings
(choose ‘print this article’ to read the whole thing without registering) from JTA News reports on
the rise of positive Islamic propaganda in history and social studies
textbooks in use in the United States, and the subtle denigration of
America, Israel, and democracy.
On a related note, two professional football players speaking at a high school assembly in Delaware had a “Christian-themed” message for the students.
One of the players, Tra Thomas of the Philadelphia Eagles, is founder
and spokesman for Athletes United for Christ. What was the message
which was so offensive the high school principal immediately issued an
apology to students and parents? “Be a leader, not a follower. Don’t
worry about what everybody else is doing.” Followed by an invitation to
join the players for an upcoming rally and concert for students at a
church in a nearby town. That’s it!
These two seemingly
separate incidents are related, in that if a message upholds godliness,
biblical truth, loyalty to Jesus Christ, His ways, or His people, it
must be silenced, or distorted, or dinegrated, or apologized for. But
if a message upholds the world’s ways, then historical fact must be
distorted and that message incorporated into textbooks. This is why we
homeschool.
