Today’s notes.

Hebrew root word parables.
Psa 25:2 TO TRUST. Strong’s H982 בטח batach;
Psa 25:2 TO (NOT) BE ASHAMED. Strong’s H954 בוש buwsh;
Psa 25:4 WAY. Strong’s H1870 דרך derek, a concrete object; from Strong’s H1869 דרך darak, a primitive root meaning, “to tread.”
dalet ד = the door, thus enter, move, hang
resh ר = the head of man, thus head, first, top, beginning, man
kaph כ ך = the open palm, thus bend, open, allow, tame
The story: The back and forth movement (dalet) of the ox to turn the grindstone and tread out the grain, when the man (resh) has tamed him (kaph) to his way.
Psa 25:4 PATH. Strong’s H734 ארח orach; an abstract concept meaning, “way, path;” from Strong’s H732 ארח arach; a primitive root meaning, “to walk, to go.”
aleph א = the ox head, thus strength, power, leader
resh ר = the head of man, thus head, first, top, beginning, man
chet ח = the wall, thus outside, divide, half
The cognate words will help us find the story. One is ‘shovel’ used to winnow grain in the wind. As the wind follows a proscribed path, so the grain is winnowed in the proscribed season following the wind. Another is ‘caravan’ which follows a proscribed route to market. Another is ‘millstone,’ as the millstone always turns the same way to grind the grain to flour. The story: The ox (aleph) follows a proscribed path in turning the grindstone, as the man (resh) outside (chet), or nomad, follows the proscribed path of the seasons in pasturing his flocks.
