The best offense is a strong defense, so that you never catch it in the first place. Actually, “catching” a bug is a bit of a misnomer; the person first has to have an internal environment favorable to the incubation and multiplication of said bug before he can “catch” it. Some people, whose internal environments are hostile to harmful bugs, can walk through a cloud of them but never “catch” that illness.
To increase the health of your internal systems, then, first, detox.
Set the sugar and processed foods aside, as much as possible.
Increase the fresh food ratio in your diet.
Take a colloidal mineral and multivitamin supplement.
(No, I do not believe Dr. Wallach is a quack. Do your research and follow the money.)
You are putting your body into a state of shalom: taking away from it what it doesn’t need, and what contributes to an immune system overload – toxins, sugar, processing – and adding to it what it does need to support healthy terrain, liver and immune function – water, walking, sunshine (vitamin D), fresh food that God made, and trace minerals and nutrition.
Humidifiers and germ protection (Broken link, active March 5, 2020).
Wash your hands! You can make your own hand sanitizer:
2/3 c 99% rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol)
1/3 c pure aloe vera gel or vegetable glycerin
5-10 drops essential oil (optional)
Blend well. Place in an empty pump soap container or pump hand sanitizer bottle.
Did you know that the deaths attributed to the 1918 flu pandemic were mostly due to the secondary infection of pneumonia, and not due to the flu? Most of those pneumonia deaths were of hospitalized patients, as well. Patients at the hospital laid flat, while patients at home, too poor to go to the hospital for treatment, sat up in their rockers at night, coughing up phlegm and getting it out of their system, and staying by their teakettles for hot tea and steam treatments. They recovered.
If you do get sick, you can follow these routines to get back on your feet sooner rather than later.
Vitamin C, 1000-6000 mg daily.
Vitamin D3, 6000-10,000 IU daily.
Elderberry syrup. We take 1 tsp 4 times per day when we come down with a cold.
Self-quarantine, except for daily sunshine and walking. Rest. Sleep. Drink lots of water. Take hot baths or showers, for steam benefits. Stay off the sugar.
