1 c whipping cream
1 c sugar
3 egg yolks
1/2 c butter
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 c coconut
1 c chopped pecans
Combine cream, sugar, egg yolks, and butter in a medium saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Stir in coconut and pecans and let cool completely, with a piece of plastic wrap firmly placed on the surface of the frosting to prevent a skin from forming while cooling. Use to fill and frost 3 layers of perfect chocolate cake to make a german chocolate cake for Dave’s birthday.
