Make the custard bread pudding. While the custard is baking, make the caramel sauce. Then melt butter in a skillet, and add the prepared fruit. Stir in the brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and cook until almost tender. When there is 30 minutes left for the bread pudding, remove from the oven, spread the fruit evenly over the top, return to the oven and continue to bake until done. Serve with caramel sauce and cream.
